Congressman Paul Ryan, House Budget Committee Chairman and aspiring 2016 presidential candidate, has traded in his green eyeshade for a campaign button.

In a flurry of sanctimonious self-regard, Ryan dramatically announced a small ball budget deal with Senate Budget Committee Chairman Patty Murray. It was an embarrassing performance.

The deal provides a paltry $23 billion in fiscal relief over 10 years. It does nothing to address the nation’s nearly $100 in unfunded liability for entitlements. ...
